Calendar sync terms explained
Updated 4 October 2026
These are the words GetCalendario uses, defined by how the product uses them. They are in a sensible order to read, not alphabetical.
Account
A Google or Microsoft sign-in you have connected to GetCalendario. One account can hold several calendars. Your plan limits how many accounts you can connect. See which calendars GetCalendario works with.
Connection
A one-way copy of events from one calendar to another. A connection has a source and a destination, and settings for how much of each event is copied. Two-way sync takes two connections, one in each direction. See one-way or two-way calendar sync.
Source
The calendar events are copied from. In the connection steps it is the calendar under Copy events from.
Destination
The calendar events are copied to. In the connection steps it is the calendar under Copy them to. Copies are written onto it, so you need permission to write to it.
Window
How far back and how far ahead a connection looks for events. Events outside the window are not copied. Your plan sets the largest window available, and you choose within it in the How far back and ahead? step. See how far back and forward does calendar sync go.
Sync rule
A rule that decides which events a connection copies, or what happens to them on the way. For example, skip events of a certain color, or keep private events private. Your plan limits how many rules you can have. See how to stop certain events from syncing.
Test Flight
The check that runs when you create a connection, before it syncs everything. GetCalendario writes two throwaway events to the destination to confirm it can write there, removes them, then copies two of your own events across so you can see the real result. You then choose to sync the rest, change settings, or skip. See what Test Flight does before your first sync.
Primary
The person who owns the subscription. A primary builds connections, decides what syncs, and pays.
Secondary
Someone who has given a primary access to their calendar, usually so an assistant, partner or colleague can include it. A secondary does not pay and is on the primary's plan. See understanding primaries and secondaries.
Team
A group of people managed together. Teams are covered under People & Team. See team members, managed and sponsored.
Backup
A nightly copy of your calendars, kept where you choose. Daily Backups is part of the paid plans and the trial, and is off until you choose where backups go. See how Daily Backups work.
View
A set of calendars that you can look at yourself or share with someone else, read-only. You find them on the Calendar Views page. Sharing views is not part of the Free plan. See how to share your availability by link.
Trial
The first 14 days of a new account. It has Premium limits and needs no card. After it, the account moves to the Free plan unless you choose a paid plan. See the 14-day trial and the Free plan.
