How the team trial works

Updated 10 October 2026

A team's free trial starts by itself once five different people on the team are actively using GetCalendario. It lasts 30 days. During it, everyone on the team gets the team plan at no charge and no card is needed. Nobody presses a start button.

Anyone with their own account can start a team from People & Team. This article describes how the trial behaves; for questions about team pricing, use our contact page.

Before the trial: Forming

A new team begins in a stage called Forming. It has no time limit and nobody pays. While it is forming, every member keeps their own plan, their own personal trial or the Free plan, and anyone can leave. The team page shows a bar with a line such as "2 of 5 people are using GetCalendario. Your free 30-day trial starts at 5."

A Forming team can still invite people, approve domains and share join links, because that is how it reaches five. See How to invite someone to your team.

Who counts as actively using

A person counts toward the five when they have connected a calendar account that no other member has connected, and at least one of their connections has finished a sync. Each calendar account counts once. Each person counts once, and a calendar account that another member has already connected does not count a second time.

An account that counted toward one team's trial can never count toward another team's trial. Closing a team and starting a new one with the same people does not earn a second trial. A team gets one trial, ever.

Joining a Forming team does not stop or extend anyone's own 14-day trial. Once the team trial starts, every member is covered, including anyone whose own trial had already run out. GetCalendario checks every five minutes whether a team has reached five.

What the trial includes

Everyone on the team is on the team plan for the 30 days, with each person's limits applied to their own account. Someone who already pays for a plan keeps it during the trial. Their billing is handed over only when the team makes its first payment. See How team billing works. Members who are covered cannot buy a plan of their own once the team is paying, but during the trial they still can.

Policies and managed-account rules start from the trial. In Forming, nothing is locked in. See Team policies and Team leaving, removing and releasing.

The team page shows "Free trial — ends (date).", and the Owner, or anyone with the billing ability, sees a Pay for your team button.

The email before it ends

Three days before the trial ends, the team's Owner gets one email titled "Your (team name) team trial ends on (date)". The date is shown in the Owner's own time zone. It says the team has been on the team plan for free, asks you to add a card before then to keep everyone covered, and warns that without one everyone keeps the team plan for 14 more days, and then every sync on the team pauses until the team plan is started. Nothing is deleted and nobody is moved to another plan. It goes to the Owner only, and only once. The check that sends it runs once a day in the morning, so it arrives up to three days ahead, and a little under three at times.

What happens when the trial ends

If the team has paid by then, it moves to active and everyone stays covered. If it has not, the team becomes lapsed and the 14-day grace period begins, and the Owner, the Admins and anyone who can manage billing are emailed that the trial has ended and on which day syncing will pause. After the 14 days, every sync on the team pauses until someone presses Pay for your team; then every sync that paused starts again where it stopped. Nobody is moved to their own plan or Free unless they leave or the Owner closes the team. From 7 days after the trial ended (People & Team shows the date), Pay for yourself instead takes a member off the team and opens their own checkout. The details are in What happens if the team bill is unpaid.

What we cannot tell you here
